Saturday we drove up to Seward Farms with Mimi, Grandpa, and Nona, and I am so glad we did! The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and there was so much to do! After watching the pig races, Noah declared that, of course, we had to ride the cow train first. This was basically about 12 barrels cut open on their side, painted as cows, attached together somehow and pulled by a tractor. The tractor driver's facial expressions were basically nonexistent which made the "ride" quite hilarious. And by "ride" I mean the constant crazy "S" shaped paths we seemed to be following all over the place with mud and dirt flinging up from the tires. Ava was gripping my arms as if her life depended on it, while Noah kept yelling "I think we're going to tip over"! Nathan was several cows up from us since most of the barrels weren't really big enough for an adult to fit in, much less a grown male. I laughed the whole time and it seemed like the ride would never end.
Next we all rode on the hayride and then we meandered through the corn maze. It was the very first corn maze experience for all of us. They had trivia questions you had a to answer at each number (1-10) and the correct answer would tell you which way to turn. We chose the TV & movie challenge and while we got most of the answers right, we did have to rely on the preschool questions that Noah had to make sure we were headed the right direction.
After that we checked out farm animal alley with Ava while Mimi braved the cow train ride with Noah. They had roosters, hens, goats, a donkey, and a horse. Nathan got pretty friendly with them all. After Noah & Nathan blasted the corn cannon a few times and the kids played in the play area, we had to leave to hurry back for the fall festival. We had a GREAT time and I hope we get to go again next year!
